This book proves that there are African Americans doing great things in every field. The book tries to highlight both women and men. It would be a great tool for young students writing reports or giving Black History Month speeches. Some of the famed people described are now dead, so it may be a salute to them. The book has exercises that teachers could probably bring up in class. This is a feel-good text that many girls and boys should enjoy.
