Safer surgery for Patients and Surgeons

This new book logically addresses protective measures to avoid unnecessary injury to both patients and surgical care providers. The author addresses the real fears of healthcare workers at risk for becoming infected with a bloodborne disease like HIV or hepatitis C due to needle-stick or scalpel injuries, which are apparently quite common. Dr. Davis identifies safe ways to avoid injuries from sharp instruments in the operating room and delivery room, encompassing practices available for years but underutilized or ignored. He list simple ways to protect medical professionals and their patients. An excellent read for the layman as well as the operating room professional.
