Excellent and easily understood resource!

I am in the process of completing a fitness tech certificate program and have purchased a number of resource guides and textbooks. I have found most textbooks to be very techinical in nature and difficult to follow and even more difficult to apply. That is not the case with Vivian Heyward's textbook. The information is accurate, informative, well-organized and leads you through how to - for example; take body comp measurements or determine an individual's TEE with step-by-step instructions and helpful illustrations and photo's. I've started using it as a reference to explain how to do the processes described in my Sports and Fitness Nutrition and Essentials of Strength Training and Conditioning(NSCA)textbooks. Advanced Fitness Assessment And Exercise Prescription is an excellent resource for personal trainers, exercise science professionals and gym or fitness club personnel. This is the reference guide we use at the fitness center where I work.

Awesome for any fitness professional

This book is very informative on the various protocols of exercise testing. After reading this book, I added new protocols to the assessments offered at my health club. I feel this book aided in setting higher standards in the health and fitness setting at my current workplace. The appendix is filled with tons of information like pictures of skinfold sites, MET values for different activities, metabolic formulas, etc.. An awesome reference for any fitness professional
