Good but commentary is better

Bought this as a study guide, which is great if used in partnership with the commentary. If you are buying only one, I suggest the commentary. But, like all the Macarthur books, this is very good.

5 Big Stars

Reviewed by David (Johnson Ferry Baptist) (Marietta, GA), January 29, 2008 Our men's Monday night Bible study has just finished the MacArthur ACTS Study Guide. The men really like this study series and have voted to go on to another book in the series. We especially like the numerous insightful notes that go with the scripture (which is printed in the book). This is just right for a men's study group because the questions are straight to the point and don't wonder off subject. The men also have enjoyed this particular Acts study, because of it's rich historical nature. Because of it's historical interest, this would be a great FIRST study (perhaps after LUKE) for MEN interested in Bible study. We highly recommend it!! FIVE BIG stars!

A good study of a good story

Ogilvie's treatment of Acts was easy to read and educational. He made a two thousand year old book come alive with its historical context and spiritual importance. This was the first of this series I read, and it prompted me to buy more. The style of the other authors has not measured up with his.
