Great for a group study

I am a pastor's wife. I was most interested in this book because our church has just finished a course called Your Church Experiencing God Together and we've been searching for what the next steps are for our fellowship. That was my motivation for picking this particular title. I wanted to look over material that could potentially be part of our church studies. The workbook is set up into 11 sessions, which are based on the metaphor of the harvest. My favorite part about this is the accountability which is built into the sessions. When you're meeting in your groups, you'll have a partner who will sign off on your Scripture memorization. You'll have activities and assignments to complete which are designed to get you down the road toward knowing how to reach a non-believer and how to help a new believer through the process of becoming a Disciple. This study is really easy to read and really won't take more than 20-30 minutes per day (depending on you). Each session chapter is set into 5 daily studies, which should help you develop a daily prayer and study time. So, is our church going to use this study? Well, maybe. My husband is reading through it right now and we may look at it for the fall. But all in all, even if we don't use it as a corporate body, I'll be working through it (as more than just reading for a review) personally. A copy of the book was provided to me from NavPress. No other compensation has been received and I was not required to write a positive review.

Acts 29, The Mission Continues by Chris Kovac

Acts 29, The Mission Continues... A Course in Sharing Your Faith by Chris Kovac is a workbook and study guide to help you share the gospel of Jesus Christ. This book shows us that we are all evangelists for Christ. It is our job to spread the gospel throughout the world. The problem is many of us don't really know how. That's where this book comes in. Kovac shows how to evangelize- how to proclaim the gospel to others. This is an excellent book on growing and becoming stronger in the gospel. The focus of the book is how to evangelize, but in order to fully do this we must understand the people we are talking to and how to relate to them. Kovac teaches a four step process: 1. Cultivating 2. Sowing 3. Harvesting 4. Multiplying Through the process, we learn how to become more spiritual and how to hide the Word of God in our hearts. Kovac shows how to be the salt of the earth and the light that others see. In order to explain the gospel, it has to be real to us and others need to see that in our lives. I highly recommend Acts 29, The Mission Continues... A Course in Sharing Your Faith by Chris Kovac. This book will help you grow as a Christian and as a witness to others. It will teach you good prayer habits and good Bible study habits. It isn't necessary to agree with Chris Kovac's doctrinal beliefs in order to learn from this book. The points he suggests will help you get closer to God and give you the tools you need to proclaim the gospel of Jesus Christ. I'd like to thank Navpress for this free review copy. I wasn't required to write a positive review- only an honest review. My opinions are my own.

Writing the Next Chapter in Acts

I recently received Acts 29, Bible Study from NavPress. Author Kovac, walks the reader through the process of knowing your faith and giving steps to help you develop your faith story. He guides the reader in scripture memorization, a bible study and a faith step for each lesson. And all these together, help the reader grasp their faith and how to tell their story to the world. Each lesson is a week-long (5 days worth of material with questions and Scripture to read). He outlines goals and objectives that the reader will reach at the beginning and will help you stay accountable to finishing the study. I think this would be a great study to do as a small group. I think discussion of the topics Kovac brings up would not only help develop our study even more but bring a small group together and encourage each other in our walk of faith. This is an in-depth study and isn't something you just sit down and do. Disclosure of Material Connection: I received this book free from NavPress Publishers as part of their Blogger Review Program. Excellent!

I love bible workbooks. Mainly because I always loved doing work in school. It strengthened your mind and made you think. So when Navpress offered me a bible workbook to review, I accepted happily. This book is amazing. It gives great comparisons, teaches a lot of different concepts, and is easy to follow. I highly recommend it to small groups, personal studies, and much more!
