ABC Ultimate Wipe Off

I ordered this book for my daughter and this isn't even 1 star worthy!!!!it came with half the pages written on with PERMANENT marker and no dry erase marker. No where did it say this was a used book. Who the heck sales a book that has been used and is no longer usable by someone else????? Awful awful!

My 3 yr old enjoys writing his letters with this book. Minor supervision is needed to ensure correct letter formation but after a couple of uses the child should be able to do it on his own. As a teacher I have only one small complaint. Each letter is shown making the sound at the start, in the middle and at the end of words. This is great except that there are one or two inconsistencies. For example, the h at the end of fish is a blend and is an inaccurate choice for illustrating the h sound since the sound at the end of this word is sh, not h. Another example that might cause confusion is where they have used the word turtle to demonstrate the short u sound in the medial position. Again, a poor choice since this is an r controlled vowel and here it makes the sound ur and not the short u sound. Outside of those really very minor issues a great writing aid for your child

I think the concept is brilliant. However, my 2 1/2 year old has a hard time tracing with the marker. She loves to color on the book and just erase it with a paper towel. NEGATIVE: wipe it off quickly or the marker is really hard to get off. I had to take a "magic eraser" to it after it was left for a few days.

My 3 year old loves this book! The fact that he can wipe it off and do the mazes over and over again is a plus.
