This is a great variety of breads with easy to follow directions in the "art" of breadmaking. This description may be from another edition of this product.
I bought this cookbook as a bride many years ago. It has been used so many times that not only is it falling apart, it still has a circular burn on the back pages from the time I was following a recipe with the book propped onto the two-burner stove, as the wife of an intern living in the intern's and resident's dorm next to the old LA County Hospital. Our tiny kitchen was built into a closet, but I still made bread from my favorite cookbook. The loaf breads are the best ever, and I use the waffle and pancake recipes every week. This book should be in every cook's library.
My Favorite Book on Breads

A World of Breads was the first bread baking book I had ever purchased and is still my favorite 30 years later. Simple and easy to understand recipes that any home baker can use with confidence. I highly recommend Delores Casella's A World of Breads and her other bread and baking cookbooks. DianaDiana's Desserts - A Website for Home Baker's
Much more than breads

I own the 1966 edition & have made almost all of the recipes. None are hard to make, some just use baking power instead of yeast. All their recipes taste just like grandma used to make!

I found this book in a used bookstore in Madison when I was a college student and baked bread to relieve stress from studying.(Better to punch a bowl of dough than...). Seventeen years later it is still my favorite cookbook and it looks it!! It has an incredible variety of bread recipes and every one is relatively easy to make and tastes great. I have made everything from waffles to Swedish rye to coffeecake to pizza dough. A must-have for those who love to bake bread by hand.
