A favorite of Puritan families for hundreds of years

If you are a Christian parent whose desire is to provide real life lessons to your children on faith and dying, this is a special and precious book for reading sweetly and thoughtfully to your children. Death is a reality for everyone, even little children. Too often parents put off these conversations only to regret it later. A child can be taken ill and never be provided the wonderful truths of God's holiness, grace, forgiveness, and peace. The true life stories of other little boys and girls in this book are precious. They have encouraged my own children. We will read a chapter and talk about it. My children will bring up stories we've read from this book later and talk about it some more. Each small chapter provides an account of a true life story of a child who came to put their faith in Jesus Christ as Savior and Lord at a very young age. It tells of how they lived, what they thought, how they interacted with others. It tells of their courage in the face of death, and how they had no fear but just God's peace of assurance when they died at their very young and tender ages. I love this book. I highly recommend it to anyone desiring to talk about life and death at a more meaningful level with their children. If you read bedtime stories to your children, here is another book I recommend most emphatically (for children at an elementary age and older): The Martyr of the Catacombs: A Tale of Ancient Rome. It has no author but the story of how it came to be published is quite fascinating. This book will also provide opportunity to talk about the weightier issues of living and dying for Christ. Martyr of the Catacombs: A Tale of Ancient Rome: A Novel God's peace to you.
