A Sudden Silence

Imagine walking with your brother and his "girl" on a lonely highway. And all of a sudden your brother is run over by a car. And you never saw who was in that car. That is what happens in the book A Sudden Silence by Eve Bunting. Jesse, the main character, loses his brother, Bry, to someone who decided to drink and drive. Now Jesse is stuck trying to remember what the car looked like and find out who was in it. With the help of Bry's "girl" they try to find the person who was responsible for Bry's death. But they struggle trying to find the right person. Is it someone they know? Or is it someone they have never met before? You will find in this book that these people go through lots of searching but in the end they find out who it really was. Jesse thought it would solve all his emptiness to find out who the real person was but you will be surprised to see what happens. This book is filled with lots of mystery and non-stopping suspense. When I read this book I just couldn't stop reading it until I was finished. It's a book that will keep you thinking before one event leads to the next. I really liked this book because it's not obvious who the actually killer is, so it's fun to try to figure out in the process of everything that's going on. I recommend this book for age 11 and up. It's a great book that is very realistic and easy to imagine yourself in. So to find out the big mystery of a tragic accident read this book, A Sudden Silence.

I just got through reading Eve Bunting's "Sudden Silence" and it was an AWESOME book! If you like mysteries or even if you don't, you should read this! Jesse's younger brother ,Bry, was killed by a drunk driver and he is determind to find his killer. Bunting leads you into thinking that Bry's killer was one person, and then it turns out to be someone else. I know that my review won't help you much, but just trust me, read this book. It makes you fell like you are really there!

The novel, A Sudden Silence, by Eve Bunting demonstrates great suspense. From chapter to chapter you think that one person murdered Jess's brother, Bry, then the author adds another clue, and it makes you think a totally different person is the murderer. A Sudden Silence is a fast paced mystery. Eve Bunting keeps your attention by adding new clues and suspects up to the last few chapters. The author makes the story so realistic, you come to feel the family's pain and suffering. At the end of each chapter you are left wondering what is going to happen next. You will soon have this mystery solved due to the fact that this suspenseful novel is hard to put down.

This book was awesome. As a teenager reading this book it really opened my eyes more to drinking and driving. It is such a terrible thing in our world today and Eve Bunting describes feelings very well. The way she added suspense, trajedy and justice was just great. I think this book is a must read.

This book was great!! It was suspensful,romantic,tragic, with a very realistic and great ending! I reccomend this book to everyone to read! I loved how it gradually brought you to the answer of the mystery,and the details following the answer once it was found! Another book by Eve Bunting that I deeply reccomend to girls is Spying On Miss Muller. It was also spectacular!! Congratulations Eve Bunting on a job well done!!!
