Being the son of a soldier has a lot to answer for, let's be honest. In some cases you either follow in your father's footsteps or not. Writing this book has given me the opportunity to convey my memories to my children. To show them what it was like growing up in the British Army and later joining the Army Catering Corps. These are my experiences encompassing my career and my family life. A few nuggets of history have been thrown in for good measure; The "maze", Batus, San Salvador, Spandau in berlin, Soltau and many more. If you happen to stumble across this book and you are a soldier or a veteran, perhaps you may reminisce on places I've visited during my career. If it brings back those memories to you then I think I've accomplished what I intended to do.
