There's a thief at Montrose Middle School. Teachers are reporting money mysteriously missing from their desks. Who's responsible? Could it be Ashley Krupps, the principal's spoiled daughter? She's been spotted recently at the mall splurging on trendy clothes. Or is it Max, who shows up at school one day sporting expensive basketball shoes? Maybe it's Kevin, Jenny's new boyfriend. He's unexpectedly begun to lavish her with extravagant gifts. The Snob Squad is on the case and their suspicions stop at no one - not even each other.
Title of the book: A Snitch in the Snob SquadBy: Julie Anne PetersReviewed by: P. ElayathPeriod:1This was a story about friendship. There were four friends who supported each other. Their names are Max (her real name is Maxine), Lydia, Jenny, and Prairie. One day, Mrs. Jonas's (their teacher)money disappears. The next day, Mrs. Milner's money disappears too. Someone was stealing their money, and the Snob Squad wants to find out who. Could it be Max, who appears at school with shiny, new basketball shoes, is it another member of the snob Squad, or is it Kevin? Could it be the Snob Squad's rival enemies, Ashley and Melanie? To find out, read this outstanding novel by Julie Anne Peters. There are many quotes in this book that I enjoyed. One of my favorite quotes is, " 'You want to go shoot some hoops?' He bounced a basketball at his side. 'No, that's okay,' I told him. 'You go ahead.' 'Oh, man. You shoulda gone,' Max chided me after Kevin left. 'The guys never ask us to play.' 'They never ask you to play,' Lydia countered. 'Why?' She answered her own queston, 'Because you beat the crap out of them.'" This is one of my favorite quotes because it makes me laugh. Another one of my favorite quotes is, "' These things taste like Styrofoam,' Lydia said, sticking out her tongue." I like this quote because it was wierd. How do you know that the popcorn cakes taste like Styrofoam if you've never eaten Styrofoam, and I doubt that she has.My favorite part in this book is when the Snob Squad finds out who stole the money. This is my favorite part because it is the least person you'll suspect. She didn't seem like she would do it at all. Oops! I just told you a clue. It's a girl. Well, there are a lot of girls. I bet you really want to know who did it. Too bad for you, you have to read this book to find out.
