Everything I heard it would be!

I'd heard this book contained information about the Upper Penninsula of Michigan from an earlier era, specifically about Blaney Park. A lifelong resident of the UP, I'd never heard of Blaney Park until recently; there's not much of it left. But at one time, it was a nationally-known resort. The book takes place almost entirely in the Manistique area. The book is fun to read, and gives an amazing insight into the mindset of depression-era Michiganders. I'm surprised Jeff Daniels hasn't made it into a movie yet.
