She hit a homerun

The only reasons for not giving this a 5 star were because the book too long. It could have been shortened by 100 pages. The author milked this book all the way to the last page before we finally got the results. I have become bored with this author always use of folks who are supposed to be Christians and folks who are rich and those trying to be rich. I am a Chrisitan, and I don't mind references to God and the Bible, but with many of her works, she overcast the books with too much preaching and quoting bible verses. To borrow a line from a Negro Spiritual, "Everybody talking about Heaven ain't going to Heaven". Jasmine was so selfish and full of herself, but it took a man like Hosea to bring her down to the ground. I cracked up with the character of Mae Frances. She kept me always full of good spirits. I am hoping that VCM will finally relinquish her challenges and start writing about everyday folks that we can deal with. The rich and those trying to get rich are a dime a dozen and an overkill. This is her best work to date.

good reading

I read the first book "Temptation" and could not wait to see what happens to Jake, Tori and Sheila. "A Sin and a Shame" did not disappoint. I was surprised by the storyline and what the author had Sheila go through in order to bring her back on the right path. Both of these stories refreshed my hope in love and peace in the world. I also loved the setting of the story in Charleston and all of the history that was wrapped in the storyline. I hope Ms. Murray keeps this story going, or did I miss something???

Best one yet

Victoria did it again, but I think this has to be the best book to date. I didnt know whether to shake my head at Jasmine or root for her to get everything her heart desired. This is my favorite VCM book yet!

Who would of thought?

This book was excellent! After reading Temptation, you wouldn't have any heartfelt sympathy for Jasmine, and after reading the sequel, by the end of the book, you realize that she is human. I enjoyed this book because it lets you know that even Christians aren't perfect. You know that when you fall down, you seek forgiveness from the Lord and get back up. Excellent read, I recommend all of her books, they are outstanding!!

I didnt want it to end !

Ive finished this book in 2days.I found it outstanding! I can say I ve read almost all V.C.Murray s books and this is absolutely my favorite. Its fast paced, insightful ,realistic, entertaining .Since this book is the sequel of "Temptation" I suggest to read that first to get a complete picture of how Jasmine s life was before she became a christian.I defintley reccomend this book .

That Crazy Jasmine Is At It Again!

A Sin and A Shame Victoria Christopher Murray ISBN:0-7432-8737-1 $14.00 June 2006 The crazy Drama Queen Jasmine Larson from Temptation returns in A Sin and A Shame. Promising to leave her old ways behind Jasmine has moved to New York and claims to want to live a Christian life. When she meets the man she thinks God has sent for her, the handsome preacher Hosea Bush Jasmine wants to do right but she manages to lie and scheme and create the usual drama that she is known for. Now she is pregnant but not by the good preacher and the only thing Jasmine knows is how to scheme. With the help of her elder neighbor Mae Francis who also has a few tricks in her purse Jasmine finds herself in a web of deceit that could alter her life forever. I loved this story. It is such a Sin and A Shame that Jasmine can't seem to do right but with all her crazy schemes the drama keeps you going through the book. The Neighbor also has a few issues that pull you in. I was a little misty eyed at the end and closed the cover with a smile. Another excellent story from Murray who once again leaves you wanting more. A great book club selection book.
