A Season for Scandal: Tangled Reins\Fair Juno

Being an avid reader, I was very surprised at the reviews posted for the book and "Tangled Reins" particular, and felt I needed to correct a horrible injustice. I loved the story right from the beginning and I am fairly certain that were Hazelmere an actual person, my husband would have serious cause for concern. (I hung around the blackberry bush for days just to make certain, but I digress...) If you are just looking for passionate sex, roll over and tap the husband...if you are looking for a interesting read, a bit of wit, and a touch of romance this is an excellent book. You could say it has a somewhat predictable ending, but as a romance, don't they all?

I love Stephanie Laurens books. This was a flook, I never knew it was 2 books in one. What I loved most about this book, is its ALL Romance and not almost all sex. I love how Ms. Laurens writes, so detailed... and you just drift right in her books. This was pure Jane Austen kind of romance. The kind I love the most. The kind that makes your heart float. My kind of romance. I liked both stories. It is slower to read, but that is only because she writes with lush details, that make you enter the book as you read. I hope Ms Laurens you keep writing like this.

I found the stories quite excellent for among the first stories written by the author -- any author will progress and get better as they write more. I enjoyed Hazelmere and his complications in winning Dorothea and Martin Willesden trying to convince Helen Waldon to marry him -- the stories were comfortable [not intense] and I love meeting old friends in another story.Well worth reading.

I am a true romantic novel fanatic, and this book was one of those that I found very hard to put down. This was the first book of Ms. Laurens that I have read, so I can not compare it to any others. I will say that it has made me want to go out and purchase others that she has written. I find that I enjoy books most that have a good story to them and not just hard sex. If you are looking for a wonderful story which have has strong heroines and fun and intrigue, then you might enjoy this book. There are two stories in this book but there connection is wonderful. I highly recommend this book for one who enjoys a good lighthearted story.
