An Adventure Beyond Description

'A Search In Secret Egypt' by Paul Brunton is an adventure to a land of ancient magic, mysteries and initiations into the mysteries and their solemn, divine meanings. The recent special illustrated edition of 'A Search In Secret Egypt' with its enormous addition of photographs and diagrams, brings a new life to this adventure beyond description. Many thanks to those who made this wonderful trip possible.

A 'travelogue of discovery'

Beautifully and profusely enhanced with the inclusion of 270 full color and black/white vintage and contemporary photos, maps, and diagrams, "A Search In Secret Egypt" by the late Paul Brunton (1898-1981) presents a wealth of information and insights that the author has compiled over his more than 70 years of studied inquiry into the metaphysics and religion of ancient Egypt. Originally published in 1936 and long out of print, "A Search In Secret Egypt" has been brought out in a very special illustrated edition by Larson Publications and once again made accessible to students of Egyptian antiquity and esoteric mysteries as revealed in the archaeology of ancient shrines and temples. This is also an engaging story of a personal spiritual adventure as Brunton addressed penetrating questions concerning Egyptian beliefs, rituals and monuments. A 'travelogue of discovery', Paul Brunton's "A Search In Secret Egypt" is very strongly recommended for personal, academic, and community library Egyptology reference collections, as well as to students of metaphysics in general, and Egyptian religious studies in particular.

A stopover in Egypt

In this book the author Dr. Paul Brunton, explains the 'trance' like state attained by various people in Egypt, while making references to India. He provides a glimpse of the mystic rites that used to take place in Ancient Egypt for people who had the desire and strength to become initiates in those times. Those of you who have read Rudolph Steiner's book 'The Gospel of St. John' in the chapter 'The Raising of Lazarus' will be able to link the explanation provided there with the explanation of Jesus's message that these rites are no longer required to become one with God.An excellent book........my quest continues.

'Breath taking'

I found that book absolutely interesting even if I did not give much credit to the spiritual experiences of the author. Although I think Paul Brunton has invented some of the content, I admire his talent of writer. He has a great imagination and his book gave me many hours of pure pleasure. The way he describes atmospheres is worth buying the book.
