Another Good Story by Lauraine Snelling

Even though I have not finished this book, I can say that it is very good and is holding my interest as all of the Lauraine Snelling books I have read. I enjoy her books because her stories are based on vaules found in the Bible. The characters are people who trust their lives to God. I have read all the books in the "Blessing" series and bought "A Masure of Mercy" as soon as it was available. Once again, I'm not dissapointed.

Measure of Mercy Review

Having read many of the books by Lauraine Snelling, I expected this to be inspiring and heart warming. It was more than that. I can hardly wait for the the next book that will continue on with the lives of this fictional family that lived in eastern North Dakota.Measure of Mercy, A (Home to Blessing)

Grown-up growing pains

Lauraine has a gift in sculpting plots that show both the warts and beauty of ordinary people doing life in an honorable way. I related to the challenges facing Astrid, this book's aspiring doctor, as I too had to find the courage to launch into unknowns that would better prepare me for my chosen career. Lauraine's little touches of Norwegian immigrant life always charm me as a third-generation Norwegian blend. What of Joshua, the young man who pines for the noble Astrid? I commend Lauraine for leaving us (and their relationship) hanging, for Joshua has some spiritual growing up to do. If nothing else, her fans will hound Lauraine for the next book, so we can see Joshua come around or else Astrid make a heart-wrenching decision. Despite its hundred-years-ago setting, Astrid's story speaks to today's young woman wrestling over God's vocational calling. Buy for a fun, wholesome read, and if you're looking for a gift for a young woman on the cusp of career, consider giving this as a gift for her.
