Excellant service by Silver Touch

When I ordered my book on 16 December 2008, I did not expect to receive it before Christmas and I got it on the 22nd of December. What a super professional service for such an extremely reasonable price.

Relatable

Forty years of happiness with the love of your life when unfortunately time expires, leaving one to have to go on without the other. For Graham Peters there simply is no way he can live without his heart Amanda. This is why Graham attempts to rid himself of life. Charlie, Graham's best friend, tries to help his friend through his bereavement. Graham finds himself at the Watering Hole, not one of his regular hangouts, at the suggestion of Charlie. He's trying to rid himself of the misery that has overtaken his life. Enter Rita Long, a jazz singer, who is just what the doctor has ordered for Graham's recovery. Sadly enough, the people in their lives aren't receptive to this up-and-coming union and are willing to do any and everything to put a halt to it. With so much against them, will Graham and Rita make it? Suzetta Perkins has done an excellent job! `A Love So Deep' is an intriguing read that is filled with real emotions from start to finish. I was able to relate to this book as I experienced such a loss. I would recommend it to those who've suffered the loss of a soul mate. `A Love So Deep' details lost, love, secrets and jealousy. A Love So Deep

Two months after losing Amanda, his wife of 40 years, Graham Peters still can't get himself together. In a deep depression and almost suicidial, Graham's friend Charlie convinces him to clean himself up, go to church and then have a couple of brews at The Water Hole. While there Graham falls for singer, Rita Long who has her own problems with an abusive, gambling ex-husband. No one wants this relationship to progress especially church member, Sister Mary Ross and Graham's daughters, Deborah and Liz. Graham's in-laws, Martha and Elroy are just the opposite. Suzetta Perkins has written a wonderful read with "seasoned" adults that's romantic and suspenseful with a surprising twist at the end.

(RAW Rating: 4.5) - Twice Blessed

Graham and Amanda Peters were married for forty years. The love shared between the couple was deep, abiding and committed. So, imagine the devastating affect Amanda's sudden death had on Graham. Left to continue life without his soul mate, of four decades, was a thought too horrific for poor Graham to fathom much less to endure. As the days and weeks passed without Amanda, Graham seemed to simply give up on life. Luckily for Graham, his best friend, Charlie, did not give up on him or allow him to give up on himself. Charlie forced his way into Graham's home and into his personal space at a time when Graham needed it the most. Charlie firmly encouraged Graham to begin living again, and against his protestations, Charlie took him to The Water Hole, a jazz nightclub. It was there; Graham would again be blessed by the love of yet another woman. Upon first seeing Rita, a beautiful, soulful and sexy songstress, Graham knew there was something special about her. And though it had only been less than two months since Amanda's death, Graham felt a deep stirring within his soul to get to know Rita better. He became a regular at The Water Hole and his friendship with Rita quickly progressed. Imagine Graham's surprise when those closest to him, his two daughters and Charlie, did not support his newfound friendship or his and reemergence into life. Other adversities to their union were Rita's ex-husband and a woman hell-bent on making Graham her own. Despite this resistance, Graham and Rita forged ahead in their relationship. Would Graham and Rita's love be strong enough to survive? A LOVE SO DEEP is well-written and engaging. I found myself drawn to the characters in the story as well as to the religious references throughout the novel. Perkins very effectively travels back and forth between the past and the present in the early stages of the novel, thereby providing readers with a complete understanding of Graham and Amanda's love. This later provides the foundation by which readers may view Graham and Rita's love. By penning the story in this manner, Perkins gives hope to those who may not believe it's possible to be twice blessed with a deep, faithful and passionate love. The surprising twists and turns will have readers on the edge of their seats. I highly recommend A LOVE SO DEEP. Readers of romance, this one is definitely for you! Love, The Second Time Around

Imagine you have been blessed to find your soul mate and are able to live 40 years together as husband and wife. Then, suddenly in a blink of an eye, death snatches her away. Heartbroken Graham Peters has pushed family and friends away while he wallows in his grief. One day, his best friend Charlie comes and gets him cleaned up and out of the house. First they go to church and then to the Watering Hole, a local bar, for a little liquid refreshments. This outing changed the life of Graham in Suzetta Perkins' sophomore novel, A Love So Deep. Reluctantly, Graham is at the Watering Hole, nursing a drink and observing the on-goings of the local bar. When he glimpses the lovely songbird on stage, Graham is instantly smitten, so much so that he returns to the bar the next day to get acquainted with the woman behind the voice. Forty-five year old, Rita Long is a little hesitant of getting into another relationship after a disastrous marriage and divorce, but there is something about Graham Peters that makes her give love another chance. As the couple falls in love, there are those on the outside who are not happy. From the single sister at church who has been waiting for Graham to be free for 40 years; to the ex-husband who decides he wants his wife back; to the daughters who feel that their father is disrespecting the memory of their mother, there are those who will do anything to break up the couple's relationship. A Love So Deep is a moving love story based on finding love the second time around. I enjoyed how Ms Perkins wove the story and made it a little suspenseful, romantic and inspirational. While I would not label the novel Christian Fiction, I would say it is church-centered, as the big church on Market Street and the teaching of the Pastor play a significant part in the story. Ms Perkins' writing is very descriptive and the imagery she presents make visualizing the scenes, attire and characters easy, Although I gave the novel 4 stars, it was really a 3.5 read for me. Initially, it was difficult to determine the time frames of the story. I could deduce from clues throughout the novel that the setting was 1986, however there were times when I was unsure because there were events and personalities mentioned that were post 1986. There were a couple of storylines that were incomplete. Aside from that, this is a love story that the romantic at heart will be sure to enjoy. Jeanette APOOO BOOKCLUB
