A History of England and the Empire-Commonwealth

I have used this book as supplemental reading in two upper-level History of England classes as it was a much better resource than the recommended text. Strong points include excellent flow, reading is interesting, more story-like than typical history books yet accurate. Excellent cultural overviews and biographical info on important figures. The only negative thing I can think to say about it is that it is somewhat favorably biased...I highly recommend this out-of-print text for a great review of Britain and the Commonwealth from the Celts to 1960.
