I'm not sure what the title of this book is. The front cover identifies the book as "The Happy Book of Christmas Stories," but the inside pages call it "The Happy Book of Happy Stories." Either way, these fables are ideal for children in the 7-10 age range and seek to instill morals. For example, "Timothy's Song" is about a hunchback who loves to sing but, alas, cannot sing well. His attempts to join the church choir are not successful. Still, his singing pleases someone important, someone who hears Timothy's heart rather than the discordant strains that come from his mouth. Not all of the stories are, strictly speaking, Christmas stories (which may explain the alternate title), but there is enough Christmas here to make children enjoy the book.
