A Guide to Novell NetWare 5: Network Administrator

I like this book because it presents the Novell NetWare 5.0 operating system in very clear, yet concise terms. Aside from a few inconsistencies it is very accurate. There are a few items that I found to be incorrect, but I have found a few errors in most technical texts. As an instructor, I like the review questions and hands-on exercises at the back of each chapter. You must really think and review the reading material to answer the questions, because the answers are not in the appendix of this text. The exercises allow me to do more of what I need to do, teach rather than create drills. But I feel that they do require the guidance of an instructor to complete them. This may make the book more suited to a classroom environment than lending itself to self-study.There are some parts that seem to gloss over the necessary detail, such as the "relative distinguished names" section. However, I believe that there is enough detail for those wishing to complete their CNA certification, which the goal of the book.This is a very good NetWare 5.0 CNA review text, but should be used in a classroom with a competent instructor.Mark Beck, MCNE
