A General Theory of Bureaucracy

This book presents research on a foundation for a proper science of organisation based on the differing capabilities of individuals to exercise discretion in decision making and work with different levels of complexity (Cf. Piagetian theory, but extended to adults). It has become widely ignored in the field but has implications ranging from how to design effective, accountable organsitions to explaining why some people with high IQs cannot organise a drink in brewery, and others who score poorly on IQ based tests such as logical reasoning can run huge enterprises very successfully. The many so called scientists who work in psychology and organisation who have ignored and belittled this work should hang their heads in shame for undermining scientific progress in this area.
