A Flame on the Front Line

Another Cliffhanger. The sincerity and dedication of John Weaver to the Lord and to the cause of Christ shine through clear and plain. As an alumnus of Free Will Baptist Bible College, my life was eternally impacted by the college too. May God use John's new book to challenge others to walk closer to the Lord as it has me.

I first met John when he was in High School and also attending the same church. As a teacher and youth worker in the church, I observed a very hotheaded diamond in the rough just before he went off to FWBBC. I lost track of John over the years until he reappeared with the first book, "Inside Afghanistan," and the publicity that went along with the publication. I purchased the first book and could not put it down. After that, I reconnected through email and began to observe from a distance his work in Afghanistan and every year or so catching him on speaking engagements while on furloughs home. When the second book came out, I just had to purchase it. Again, I was astounded by what I read. Did I approach these books with skepticism?--Yes! I knew him as a teenager!!! --When Jesus was questioned in His hometown about where He received His wisdom and authority he replied, "A prophet is not without honor, except in his own country, and among his own relatives, and in his own house." Certainly I found it astounding that the young man I knew could be involved in such a magnificent way in helping the people of a foreign land. To God be the glory. John is a changed man. "But thanks be to God, who always leads us in triumph in Christ, and manifests through us the sweet aroma of the knowledge of Him in every place." II Corinthian 2:14. John is a a sweet aroma of the knowledge of Him in Afghanistan and wherever he goes.

We released the book on September 11, 2009 (8th year anniversary of 9/11). I am extremely thankful to be on this journey and recommend it to you. Our hope is to Inspire, Inform and generate Income for the work of Shelter Now Afghanistan. Thanks for reading it and passing it on.
