Still on my best trilogy list

I see that some readers felt dissatisfied with the ending. That's ok. If everyone felt like I do, Hollywood would be out of business. I loved the ending and anyone who couldn't see the potential for such an ending was not paying attention. The clues were there and I wanted the ending to be different as much as Morgan Roche did the entire journey but understood that things do not always work out the way you want them. I was then left with a total respect for the writers ability to let go of the typical ending and have the courage to do something different. I loved these characters with all their talents and flaws and deeply hope to be able to someday return to their world, as I am sure there are many other characters waiting to share their story with us. We still know very little of the Dato Bloc, the high humans and the others. I have no doubts that Williams and Dix have plenty more to share with us. Lead on gentelmen, and we will follow!

Hooked again!!

It is not often that after reading the first 2 books of a trilogy that I anxiously await reading the 3rd!! (not since Lord of the Rings)Having not read a science fiction book for near on 20 years, it was with some trepidation that I pick up the Evergence books. I was hooked by the end of the first chapter and never lost interest or focus right through all my readings. Fast paced, great structure, original and yes a heroine for the main character. This has really got me back into the sci-fi section in my local bookshop. I have loaned the books out to friends ... and they have all been hooked like myself. Looking forward to upcoming books from Williams and Dix.Highly recommended...

Evergence Trilogy!

After first reading the first, Evergence: The Prodigal Sun I never DREAMED the Trilogy would come so far! The first was great, and ultimately blossemed into something I would have never believed so much would happen in only the span of three books. So much happened in just Evergence: A Dark Embalance! In A Dark Embalance brings a close to the story of Morgan Roche and her destiny. While some things you may see coming, much of it you won't have imagined to happen. Roche, as with all three Evergence novels, jumps from one emergency to another while she strives to learn more about the Super-AI 'Box' and the seemingly freak(Compared to the rest of his kind) Clone Warrior that she is not sure if she trusts or not... All the while coming closer to her destiny.Coming into A Dark Embalance, Roche's crew consists of Amedio Haid, and ex-mercenary and military genius; a young Surin Reave, Maii who has developed into a trusted friend; Uri Kajic, built into the Ana Veriene; Adoni Cane, a genetically engineer Clone Warrior that seems to be on her side; and Box, Super-AI that seems to have access to everything.I look forward to hearing from these authors again, maybe a sequal series taking place in the same universe. I am anxious to see if anything becomes of the universe created by Sean Williams and Shane Dix! Well done!

Great end to a great trilogy!

I have thoroughly enjoyed this entire trilogy. Too bad it had to come to an end so soon. This book was a great way to end the great trilogy! What a twist! I'll be looking for upcoming titles from these two authors. Very interesting universe. I'll be looking to see if Shane Dix and Sean Williams write more into this universe. Very well done.

A great finale to this sf trilogy

After the debacle at the Palasion System station, Commonwealth of Empires Intel Agent Morgan Roche follows her former boss Jelina Heidid into the Sol System. Morgan knows she must stop Jelina and the other clone warriors from destroying mankind. However, something is happening in the Sol System as it sees if vessels have followed Morgan's ship into the system.Morgan does not know who the real enemy is. For instance on her ship is Cane, a clone warrior, who insists he is human. However, one thing is certain, everyone in the vicinity of the Sol System wants a piece of Morgan. With only the mysterious "Box" that is now melded inside her mind from the events at Palasion, her esper Maii, and hopefully a loyal crew including Cane, Morgan prays that her destiny is to defeat an unknown powerful enemy. A DARK IMBALANCE is the final novel in the EVERGENCE trilogy (see THE PRODIGAL sun and THE DYING LIGHT). As with the previous two tales, this science fiction with some fantasy elements is a thought provoking exciting tale due to the strong characterizations especially in this case of Morgan. The story line is fast-paced, as it seems as if events force Morgan to jump from one fire to another. Though it helps to have read the earlier two novels as references frequently return to them, fans of Star Trek will enjoy this book and the entire series.Harriet Klausner
