Morgan will know the job is complete once he tosses Mrs. Hayne out of the house.However, upon seeing the Mrs. he is shocked because she is young, pretty, and far from haughty, going so far as providing a warm friendly welcome to Jeremy. The tale has been often told (Monte Cristo) yet feels fresh due to the strong characterizations. Why Cordell "bought" a half-gypsy wife seems off kilter especial since he ignores her, but readers will still fully appreciate this solid story as Eulalia resuscitates Morgan's heart, beating for the first time since he was displaced at fifteen.Harriet Klausner
