A Special Part Of Our Daily Morning Routine

The sun rises and beckons the roosters to crow, the birds to fly, the horses to gallop, the squirrel to frisk, the rabbits to leap, run, and nibble. It urges the flowers to open, the bees to buzz, the bugs to creep, and the birds to sing. It is a brand new day and the author calls upon the children to wake up and asks "What will you think? What will you play?" It is a wonderful celebration of the anticipation that each new day brings and a reminder that "This is your day!" We read this book every morning. My daughter loves the bright, bold, vibrant pictures. The illustration style is similar to a quilt or collage. There were some criticisms in other reviews for the illustrations of the sheep. I think it is important to expose children to a multitude of artistic styles. The pictures are not so abstract that you can't tell what they are; they are whimsical. Another great part of our morning is an awesome CD with morning music that I highly recommend! Morning Magic

A refreshing book for morning reading

Reviewed by Cayden Aures (age 4 1/2) and Mom for Reader Views (2/09) "A Child's Good Morning Book" begins when the night ends. The sun rises and it is time for everyone to wake up. The roosters crow, the birds fly away, and the bees begin to buzz. Finally, the alarm clocks ring and the children begin their day. Cayden: "I liked watching everyone wake up when the sun came up. My favorite part was when the bees woke up and buzzed. I liked when the kids woke up too and got dressed. I liked their shirts and when they stretched their arms up. We can read this book when we get up in the morning!" Parent's comments: It is nice to see a book that is meant to be read in the morning, a refreshing departure from the plethora of bedtime books available! I am a big fan of Margaret Wise Brown's books (especially "Goodnight Moon") and really enjoy her style of writing. Brown's writing, coupled with the bright colorful illustrations, make "A Child's Good Morning Book" a book that every child will enjoy

A CHILD'S GOOD MORNING BOOK

My daughter tells me that this is one of her children's very favorite books! My grandchildren are 3 and 1 yrs old.

A Gentle Wake-Up Book for Babies, Toddlers, and Parents

When our baby received books as gifts, 75% of them were bedtime oriented. I wanted to read to her in the mornings when she was most alert. The book shows how all the animals and plants wake up when the sun rises. The text is simple, but not boring. Though she is only a few months old, our baby responds well to the contrasting colors (mostly orangey-reds and greens). Because they are portrayed as sleeping huddled together, the bunnies and sheep are hard to discern, though. This book offers a brightly illustrated choice to parents and children who want to wake up to books.
