Book One Pat Shannon is riding out a tropical storm in his motor home on Galveston Bay when he sees a kid struggling through the storm on an old bicycle. It's obvious the kid is homeless by the look of his long dirty hair and clothes. There is no place for shelter and he's having a hard time just standing upright in the wind, so Pat invites him in out of the storm. When Danny is cleaned up Pat finds that he's a beautiful twenty-year old who was kicked out of his family home so he decides to help the kid out. It doesn't take long and they become friends and then a lot more than friends. Book Two Mike has just graduated college and is traveling across Texas to visit an old college buddy when he stops for gas in a little wide spot in the road. He finds that his car is leaking oil badly and he needs a mechanic. He meets a local kid, Manny who says he can fix the car but can't get parts for a couple of days. There no motel in the town but Manny invites Mike to stay with him. Mike is surprised at the kid's generosity and has little choice and since Manny is a cute young guy, he likes the idea even better. After a night together, Mike's in no hurry to get the car fixed.
