A+

This book is inticulate and has easy to understand questions. The use of this book has shone a light on the easy ways to pass the A+ examination I highly recommend it to other students

BIG HELP!

To put it simply: if you no nothing...and want to get a quick certification, dont get this, BUT, if you have experience and at least already know what an IRQ is, GET THIS BOOK! You will pass.

Terrific Book! It helped me pass !!!!!

Personally, I don't know why this book received so many bad reviews! I used this book along with the A+ Certification guide by Michael Meyers. I passed the exam on the first attempt. I feel the exam was alot easier than the exams by Microsoft. The book had questions in it that I felt were harder than the actual exam, so I felt very confident during the exam! As with any exam though, don't let yourself be fooled into thinking you can pass with just one book!! Buy this book and the book from Michael Meyers and you won't go wrong!!

An excellent resource, in spite of some errors

I have been finding this book to be an excellent means of gauging my readiness for the A+ test and pointing out my weak areas. There are a few errors. ( I suppose anything covering this breadth of information tends to have some errors and gaps) In the section on laser printers the author asks in what step the image is put on the paper. The answer key say it is "writing", when in fact it is "Transfer". I have also found a few questions where the answer is inverse to the question. for instance it will ask "which of the following are NOT ___" and the answer will be as if the question was written as "which of the follwing ARE___". some questions are confusing as to what they are asking, though I would assume this may be an effort to better prepare you for the actual test. this book made it obvious that neither of the two study guides I had bought had a chapter on portable computers, which is 10% of the test. As with any of these certification books, if it says something that does not sound right, check it out with another source. I suggest selecting study materials from several publishers in order to fill in any potential gaps.

An essential and outstanding study guide.

I've read them all, and this was by far the best. Hundreds of carefully worded questions covering all the issues covered on my August 24, l998 exam! The answers for each question instruct and clarify. Highly recommended.
