Wonderful Fairy Tale!

237,000 book sales can't be wrong! I loved this book. Splendor is such a wonderous fairy with gentle nature and the way she cries tiny diamonds as tears and disappears into a mist when she's troubled. She's been in love with the human Jourdian all of her life and now she finds she must marry him and conceive his child in order to save her fairy kingdom ... but it will mean leaving the man she loves. While she has managed to get herself into his mansion, can she ever get this hard headed and hard hearted man to fall in love with her? This story is filled with much humor as her pet Delicious, who can and does turn itself into any animal it wants to, reams havoc on the servants at Jourdian's mansion. Also causing alot of fun is Splendor's sister, Harmony, who loves to spread every but! How fun when she turns Jourdian into a slug and leaves it to Splendor to find him! This book is great fun and I found myself up until the wee hours of the night reading, unable to put it down.Enjoy and I'm sure it's one you'll not easily forget!

Hot, sensual and roll on the floor funny!

I loved this book. I laughed and cried so hard over this book. I will definately buy other books by Rebecca. This book is a fantasy historical. The heroine is a fairy. Her name is Splendor. She is a fairy princess who has been chosen to conceive a child with the human Jourdian, the 12th Duke of Heathcourte. She has only has three months in which to do this. If she doesn't do this the fairy world will end. They need the half-human baby to strengthen them and the kingsom will again be able to have children. So she goes to the human world naked and lands atop a shocked Jourdian. She proceeds to send his orderly world totally upside down. When her best freind, a shape shifting animal shows up in the house, you never know what it will be. One day a pig the next a donkey and so on. She is seen by the vicar naked and now a scandal is afoot. Jourdain marries her to save her reputation but she can't abide by the scratchy clothing so she marries him in one of his silk shirts and nothing else. The love scenes are hot and sensual and make a person sigh. Splendor's sister Harmony who is very mischevious shows up and causes havoc, even going so far as to turn Jourdian into a snail! She then falls for Jourdian's best friend Emil. This story is so endearing to me I can't wait to read it again and again. If you get a chance to get a copy of this book buy it and never lend it out, you might not get it back!

One of my all time favorites

This book has been sitting in my TBR (to-be-read) pile forever. I finally got around to reading it the other day and all I can say is WOW...it was that good. "Basket of Wishes" has a very similar plot to Jill Barnett's "Bewitching", only Paisley's heroine was a faerie instead of a witch. Paisley's version contains the same emotional, tug-at-your-heartstrings scenes as Barnett's book as well. But that's where the similarities end. The stories were actually quite different even though the themes of the novels were similar. And to Paisley's credit, I even found "Basket of Wishes" funnier than I did "Bewitching". (I'm a huge Barnett fan so I don't concede that easily!)Give this book a try. It's a shame Paisley isn't more prolific because I'm already eagerly anticipating her next novel and wondering how long I'll have to wait to read it...

One of my all-time favorite romances

If you are looking for a pick-me-up kind of book this is the one! I absolutely loved this story about a whimsical fairy princess who is destined to marry a human in order to save her race from possible extinction.Splendor, the fairy princess of Pillywiggin, is thrilled to learn from her Father that Jourdian, the Duke she has been admiring & watching over since childhood, is the chosen human to sire the first half human/half faery child. All Jourdian ever wanted was a plain, boring wife, one who would bear him children and cause him no trouble. Then Splendor and her magic enters his life and Jourdain's safe orderly world is suddenly turned upside down. The only hitch is that Splendor only has three months to convince Jourdian to marry her and conceive before she must return to Pillywiggin or else she may die . . . unless she convinces Jourdian to fall in love with her. This is a magical story that put a smile on my face and had me laughing out loud. Splendor's innocence and antics are adorable, sometimes silly and always hilarious, I've never read another heroine quite like her. Anyone who loves a pure romantic fantasy, lots of humor and a sensual love story should read this ASAP.

Fantastically Magical!!!!

This book had me in stitches I was laughing so hard. Rebecca Paisley's faery world is wonderful! I loved it when Splendor brought the Shakesperean characters to life or when Harmony turned Joudian into a slug and he almost got eaten by a hawk. Splendor has one of the most fascinating pets ever written. Her pet, Delicious, can be what ever it wants to be. So through this delightful romp of a book, you will find a pig racing down the hallway, a rooster at a wedding, a bat at christmas, and a seal in the fountain. Not to mention much more fascinating animal shapes in various peculiar places. I had to put the book down so I could catch my breath. I won't devulge anymore magical secrets, you'll have to read it to find out. I gaurantee, that behind each turn of the page, you will be delighted and dazzled by the sheer magic of this book.
