52 Poems for Men

When I saw this book at the local bookstore, my first thought was, "men will never read poetry out of their own free will." But, when flipping through the book, one of the few poems I did enjoy from high school, "Footnote to HOWL," popped out, and I figured I would give the book a go. The poems I read were nothing like I expected. Jay Amberg has compiled a selection of poetry that would appeal to any man. It is evident that the poems have been selected with great care, and even though this book is for men, the poems selected are in no way trivialized or less significant. This book would make a great gift for a birthday, Father's Day, or for any other occasion. Any man who receives this book will surely be able to identify with at least one poem, be it "Down Wanton, Down," or any of the other fifty-one poems in this collection.
