A great book for beginners

I have a friend that is just getting into tattoos. He loved this book mainly due to the fact that it had the stencil on one page and the shaded or colored on the other page. I believe it is a must for beginner tattooists. I even found one that spoke to me and he will be tattooing it on me shortly.

this book was very helpful in designing tatt's for my friends and none the less myself. It has everything from culture to animals, even plants. i recomend this to anyone who is into designs the simplest or even detailed tatt's. Just because of it's such a simple design to base off of.

This book has been very useful for me as a mosaic artist. Many of my clients have selected a dragon, or mystic sign, etc. from the pages and I have worked it into a mosaic mural or panel. These type of images are not seen in mosaic books. Mosaic stuff is usually very tame and cutesy. That is why I often pick up tatoo and fantasy art books. The basic line drawing style in this one, I assume, is meant as a guidline to an artist. And, if I were a tatoo artist, hopefully I would have enough imagination and creativity to be able to do something with this very wide range of templates. That is what separates the artists from the copiers. However, I do agree that some more information on the meaning of some of these symbols would be very useful. To the hardcore artists, you think this crap, wait till you see the stuff mosaic artists are presented with as source books. This is a great little book and I like it!
I think youre a little misaken

most people expected to find amazing custom pictures of peoples tattoos in this book. this is a "tattoo flash art" book, with simple drawings, like the ones you would see pnned up on walls. the black and white pencil drawings are for stencil perposes or customizing colour. these arnt custom tattoos, theyre just simple drawings for art purposes. works great for airbrushing too, just draw out the stencil, cut it out and paint
