It Works!

Since I was a young girl, I have struggled with my weight. I had tried EVERYTHING, from working out like a maniac to trying fad diets like the popular Atkin's Diet. But none worked and the Atkin's diet actually made me sick. Then I found this wonderful book which explained why I was gaining weight, why I craved carbs, and what to do about it. I followed the plan fairly closely, but adapted it to my own lifestyle. After the first week I lost 5 pounds and after 3 1/2 months I had lost 30 lbs! Try it! It's much more healthy than the Atkin's diet and far less restrictive.... and it works!

Quick, simple, easy to follow book

I was looking for a good, simple, and moderate way to lose weight and this book has gotten me into a healthy pattern. I read the book in one night and started with the Fat Burning recipes the next day. I've been following the zone plan for 4 weeks and what has amazed me the most is that my sweet cravings are gone! Before starting the 40-30-30 plan, my diet consisted of 80-90% carbohydrates and I always craved sugar. With the balance of nutrients, those cravings have disappeared. The diet has been easier for me to follow since I started using a meal delivery service in San Diego that delivers dinners in the 40-30-30 ratio. I also use the Ironman bars as snacks and those have been satisfying when I get hungry in the afternoon. The zone methodology is very sound and I strongly recommend this book as a jump-start to the zone program. It's an eating style that is sensible and does not feel like dieting.

Awesome Weight loss and change of life!

I started this plan over one year ago, and I am now 2/3 the man I used to be. I tipped the scales at over 320 pounds and have dropped 91 pounds to date through eating 40-30-30 and proper exercise. The diet plan is easy to follow and gives you more room for error than any other plan on the market. By that I mean it is easy for you to hop back on the plan if you slip up one meal or even one or two days. Once your body gets "Balanced" you maintain your weight, with a ton of new found energy. You begin to burn fat instead of storing it and your cravings become less and less a factor in dieting.The addition of sample menus completes this easy to follow change in eating and helps keep you on track and focused. This book has fat flush meals, vegetarian fat flush meals and plain old 40-30-30 balanced meals, so pick one and get started. I won't kid you, the first few weeks were rough but after that the plan melted off, on average, 10 pounds per month and I'm still dropping pounds and inches with only 9 pounds to my goal weight. I've gone from a XXXL and XXL to an XL and from 46-48 pants to 36-38 pants. My heart rate at rest is 48 and my blood pressure is 116/72. I eat balanced meals and snacks when I want and exercise 4-5 times weekly, and my new found favorite snack is a "Balance" bar. I still have difficulty with Carbs, so I eat them before heading to the gym, and use that extra energy as a boost for a better workout!This plan is awesome and comes highly recommended by me. Just watch your pocket book, because when you drop as much weight as I have a new wardrobe is a much needed and more than welcome expense!

Excellent, easy to follow, and never hungry!

I lost 35 pounds with the help of this book - I couldn't deal with reading the Barry Sears books and the recipes were too complicated and time consuming for me, a student with little time and little patience for cooking anythin. This book was extremely easy to follow, the meals are simple and satisfying, and I was rarely hungry between meals. The occasional mini-snickers bar or chocolate malt balls didn't hurt either - but I still lost a lot of weight in a fairly short time. And my cholesterol went down too!

The book was informative, easy to follow and it is working!

I had been on a weight loss program for several weeks when I found 40-30-30-Fat Burning Nutrition. I was mentally prepared to lose weight but not prepared for the weight loss that I experienced immediately on the "fat flush". Needless to say I was excited and a "believer". I have followed the program for four weeks and lost 8 pounds and several inches (2 dress sizes). I feel energetic, in control and determined. What a wonderful way to enter the "holiday season of joy and wonderful food!!. I plan on losing weight in November and December. Thank you for teaching me the importance of combinations. This is my first experience with the "Zone" diet and I am very glad that this is the first book that I have read because I needed it to be condensed, easy to read and follow, and simple.
