Fabulous book!

I picked up this book to supplement my 6th grade Science curriculum and I feel it is a fabulous find!

Great opening into the world of science

This two-volume series is a great introduction to hundreds of simple scientific experiments, each involving modest materials that are easy to find and instructions that are easy to read, accompanied by friendly cartoon illustrations. The series seems to be written for children to read -- a precocious ten-year old should be able to do most of these experiments, although people of all ages will find these activities exciting and fun. Adults can certainly use this book as a guide for science exploration -- you might want to read ahead and try some experiments in advance, to make sure the instructions make sense and get the intended results. Although the scientific principles are explained in general terms, the book is designed to keep the text to a minimum, so the scientific chatter is perhaps less thorough than some parents or teachers might like... If it's important, you can research the principles elsewhere had prepare more in-depth explanations using other sources of information. For the most part, though, these books are pretty brilliantly planned: the experiments are easy to reproduce and the scientific principles are mostly pretty self-evident. We've had a lot of fun using these books, and I'm sure you will as well... Highly recommended! (Joe Sixpack, ReadThatAgain children's book reviews)

Just the right sequence... excellent book

Just the right sequence to "365 Simple Science Experiments With Everyday Materials". Experiment is slightly more difficult then the mentioned book but much more fun for kids. Sections such as Exploration in Outer Space is outstanding especially with all the buzz around Mars. My daughter won the first prize in Science fair thanks to one of the experiments list in above mentioned book. A must have series if you want to increase you children's interest in Science.

Simplified practical science for kids

I have got both these books (The first one being 365 Simple Science Experiments with everyday materials) for my kids (aged 8-12) and they find the experiments extremely fun and interesting because they don't need much adult intervention when trying them out , it helped them at school by providing them with a good background of practical science; the kind you encounter everyday but take for granted. It is written for kids, not for adults who then have to explain it to kids. The book covers many scientific concepts to do with physics, time, nature and space.

Simply Magnificient!

I loved it! The experiments are so much fun! They were interesting and fascinating! A *Must* for any scientific youngster.
