Quite Possibly the Perfect Sweet Dreams Book

"101 Ways to Meet Mr. Right" may just be the perfect Sweet Dreams book. Funny without being grating, sweet without being condescending, and romantic without being melodramatic, this novel is the paragon of sugar pop, circa mid-80s, teen confection fiction. Literally every Sweet Dreams convention, from the alternately bumbling and colorful sidekicks/best pals to the heroine's crush on her older brother's best bud, is used to amusing and delightful perfection. Even managing to make a statement about not rushing love and allowing it to run its natural course, the novel features a wonderfully likeable heroine, Darcy Summers, whose class project on "101 Ways to Meet Mr. Right" runs amok when she unwittingly falls for longtime sparring partner and her older brother's cutie cohort Chris Riley. Funny, romantic, and charming, this novel is a real winner.

The references to the 80s made me laugh

After 15 years I am currently on a search to recover the Sweet Dreams series for my 3 girls to experience. I just read 101 Ways To Meet Mr. Right by Janet Quin-Harkin and found it as delightful as I remembered it.A sophomore named Darcy decides to write a term paper on how to meet guys and enlists her 2 best friends to help her. After a few mishaps and a make-over Darcy discovers that she has a crush on her brothers best friend of all people!! Not sure he feels the same way she tries to push the thought of him out of her head but finds it hard because he's always around.I thought this story was really good and funny to read at times. The book dated itself with references of Matt Dillon and Lionel Richie as well as feather haircuts and 80s style clothing. *hehehe* A very good read.
